[ARCHIVE] PUB App Process - AdChain/AdChainRegistryDapp GitHub Wiki
Below are the general steps that a Publisher must go through in order to be admitted into the adChain Registry.
- Acquiring adToken
- Staking adToken and Applying into the Registry
- In Application Status
- Voting – Commit Status
- Voting – Reveal Status
- In Registry
- Rejected from Registry
STEP 1 – Acquiring adToken and Ether
After the adToken token launch on June 26th, 2017, a fixed supply of 1 billion adToken have been created to serve as a utility token in the adChain registry. Today, those tokens can be purchased on secondary-markets such as Bittrex and EtherDelta. On these sites, adToken can be purchased with either Ethereum or Bitcoin. Therefore, if you have a fiat currency and wish to purchase adToken, you must first exchange your fiat into either Ethereum or Bitcoin to finalize your adToken purchase. Make sure you have a bit of Ether left in your wallet, though, as you'll need Ether to pay for the gas (a transaction cost).
Once you have purchased adToken, you must move it from the exchange you purchased it from and store it on an online wallet, such as MyEtherWallet, Parity, or MetaMask.
Now that you have the adToken stored in those wallets, you can download the wallets' respective extensions in order for the wallets to automatically connect when in the adChain Registry WebApp.
STEP 2 – Staking adToken and Applying into the adChain Registry
Once you have adToken and a bit of Ether in your wallet, and the WebApp is able to automatically access it, you are ready to stake your adToken and apply into the adChain Registry. The application page only requires two fields (domain URL and Total ADT Staked) to be filled in order to initiate the application. All other fields are for documentation purposes that allows MetaX to assist you in any way possible throughout the application process. Once the Domain URL and Total ADT Staked field is filled-in, your application moves into the "In Application" status in the adChain Registry. Please note, you can only stake an amount of ADT less than the total ADT available in your wallet.
STEP 3 – In Application Status
Your status as "In Application" is then displayed on the WebApp for the general adToken community to see. For a fixed amount of time, the adToken community has the obligation to either allow you into the registry or challenge your status as an applicant. Only one wallet address can challenge your application with the exact amount of ADT you used to apply. If no one challenges you and the "In Application" period has ended, you are allowed into the adChain Registry.
STEP 4 – Voting Commit Status
In the case that a general ADT holder challenges your application into the adChain Registry, your application moves to "In Voting – Commit" phase. In this stage, the general ADT community is asked to stake their ADT to either SUPPORT or OPPOSE your application into the adChain Registry. This commit phase only displays the total ADT used to vote, but does not break down the total into how many ADT are used to SUPPORT or OPPOSE your application. During this phase, ADT holders are able to edit their commit and its quantity until the phase period has ended and moved onto the "In Voting – Reveal" phase.
STEP 5 – Voting Reveal Status
After the voting commit phase comes the voting reveal phase where those who have committed ADT are able to reveal their latest commit. If the ADT holder reveals the bid, then the ADT committed is added to displayed and aggregated with other commits that have been revealed to either SUPPORT or OPPOSE your application. Please note that an ADT holder can choose NOT to reveal their commit, which in turn will not count their vote.
STEP 6 – In Registry
After the voting reveal phase has concluded, and the general ADT community voted in your favor of ≥ 50%, you status has upgraded to "In Registry" where you are listed in the adChain Registry for a definite amount of time. This status will attract premium ad-spend as Advertisers will be fully confident that their campaign money is not spent on fraudulent domains. Once your "In Registry" status expires, though, you will have to go through the application process once again.
STEP 7 – Rejected from Registry
If the general ADT community has voted to OPPOSE your application into the adChain Registry, then your status is changed to "Rejected" and listed on the adChain Registry. This status, though, in no way stops you from applying again, as many times as you would like. Therefore, if you feel like you have clean inventory and can show that, you should apply once again.
