Meeting Notes
TRB
We will not be submitting a paper this year but are tentatively planning for next year and will revisit in April/May 2024. This will be the implementations more time to put their models into practice and application.
There is still interest in organizing an informal workshop at TRB. This will be added to the agenda in late August / early September, before the deadline for reserving a meeting space, to better define goals.
Response to Eric Miller editorial
Written primarily by Dave Ory and Joel Freedman and has not been distributed to the group. ACTION ITEM: Joe to send it out a Google Doc link for editing.
TBD if it comes from the Consortium or a subset.
Distribution options:
Submit to the journal for publication
Post a link to the medium, so it’s stable, either through the journal or TMIP
If accepted – post link to it via TMIP
Engaging with Academics and Researchers
The main question was: can we be more intentional about engaging with folks who are using ActivitySim but are not part of the consortium? Is this a priority?
Interested in connecting with BEAM folks to understand what work they've done with ActivitySim, their efforts moving forward, and how to best learn from each other.
Should we approach Lawrence Berkeley labs for participation?
The potential informal meeting at TRB may be a good way to gauge interest and make connections.
