Project Meeting 2022.07.21 - ActivitySim/activitysim GitHub Wiki
Agenda
Status Update on Phase 7 tasks
Action Items
Michelle to schedule an offline discussion about Phase 7 project delivery
Jeff to schedule a side technical conversation about data types and making changes to the main (non-sharrow) version of ActivitySim to reduce run-time and memory usage.
Meeting Notes
Task 2-4: Sharrow Parts 1-3
Part 1 is almost done – should be done within a week or two
Testing functionality is done
Rigorous performance against old code – old code just takes a long time, with chunking turned as required by scope
Concerns about not just run time but also memory usage – group wants Jeff to report on that during the next update. Jeff has been working on understanding both runtime and memory implications.
This effort lead to discussions about reviewing data types that can be revisited.
Joe proposes dealing with old data types, make a better version of the old version of the model, and then use this as the benchmark for comparison to sharrow, so that running the old version doesn’t become a barrier to completing work on time. Suggested that the consortium put together a task order for this and issue in the next two weeks.
Jeff notes that it’ll be faster for him to get things done moving forward with what he’s already doing, rather than wait for a new task to be executed and then completed.
Jeff TO DO: have a side technical conversation about this topic.
Part 2 is getting 2- and 3-zone systems
Moving along, more progress to share in 2-3 weeks
Part 3 is time windows
Smallest effort
To be done in the next few months
Task 5: Trying to find a time to present on the school drop-off and pick-up model
Tours and trips are created
Task 6: Disaggregate accessibilities
Presenting next Tuesday
Made synthetic population procedure for the disaggregate accessibilities
Currently sending through the destination choice model
Task 7: Shadow pricing – have not made much progress
Task 8: Kind of incorporated into Task 5
Michelle TO DO: Find a time offline to discuss timeline for project delivery
