We reviewed Phase 2 and everyone agreed that it went really well
@Ken and @Lisa will be taking over for MTC and @Stefan for PSRC
There is significant interest from folks outside the project - other MPOs, private firms, other consultants, etc.
As we discussed the scope and work plan for the next couple of years, a few themes emerged:
We want ActivitySim to be more ready-to-go for someone new to the project
We want to complete the remaining sub-models so we can say we have a working ABM platform
We need to improve the usability, organization, data pipelining design to make it easier for others to contribute
Contributions from others is great, but we need to manage it
Contributions from others may distract us from the goal of building an ABM platform for the AMPO partners first
Completing the remaining sub-models is more important than adding multi-threading
We're pretty confident multi-processing will work for how we are proceeding with chunking and vectorization so as long as we keep this in mind, we can drop this task this year
We want to come back to TRB in 2018 with something that we can better share with others
We agreed to try to double development and funding in 2017 to speed up the project
@Ben to revise Phase 3 scope of work and setup a meeting to discuss in a couple weeks
