Project setup - AStA-Wedel/Kasse GitHub Wiki
This page is intended for those who want to start developing the AStA checkout system.
The project depends heavily on the google web toolkit and uses guice (server-side) and gin (client-side) for dependency injection.
Client and server are both written in java code. The code base is divided into client, server and shared package. The last is for code which is equal on both server and and client side.
Eclipse setup
To start developing you can use eclipse java ide. You would want to make your life easier with following plugins installed:
- Maven Integration for Eclipse
- Egit Team provider for source control
- Google webtookit plugin
Check the project out as general project, convert it to maven nature and turn the google webtoolkit switch in project properties on. In some rare cases you have to set the war directory for the google plugin. Set it to src/main/webapp.
Non IDE setup
If you just want to have a look at how the project currently looks you can simply run mvn gwt:run on command line and the app will start up.
