Blocks in Ethereum make up a chain. The blockchain hahahahahahaha Anyway, in this documentation, EthereumBlock is an object with the following properties:

  • (Number) number: The block's Number. Will be null if it's a pending block.
  • (String) hash: The block's hash in hex. 32 bytes long with a 0x prefix. Will be null if it's a pending block.
  • (String) parentHash: The previous block's hash.
  • (String) nonce: Hash of the generated proof-of-work in hex. 8 bytes long with a 0x prefix. Will be null if its pending block.
  • (String) sha3Uncles: SHA3 of the uncles data in the block in hex. 32 bytes long with a 0x prefix.
  • (String) logsBloom: The bloom filter for the logs of the block in hex. 256 bytes long with a 0x prefix. Will be null if its pending block.
  • (String) transactionsRoot: The root of the transaction trie of the block. 32 bytes long with a 0x prefix.
  • (String) stateRoot: The root of the final state trie of the block. 32 bytes long with a 0x prefix.
  • (String) receiptsRoot: The root of the receipts trie of the block. 32 bytes long with a 0x prefix.
  • (AddressString) miner: The address which was paid for this blocks creation.
  • (BigNumber) difficulty: Difficulty for this block.
  • (BigNumber) totalDifficulty: The total difficulty of the chain until this block.
  • (Buffer) extraData: Whatever the miner wanted to put in this block. Usually it's some sort of identifier regarding which pool mined it.
  • (Number) size: The size of this block in bytes.
  • (Number) gasLimit: The maximum gas allowed in this block.
  • (Number) gasUsed: The total used gas by all transactions in this block.
  • (Number) timestamp: The unix timestamp for when the block was collated.
  • (Array) transactions: Array of transaction hashes. Use Web3Connection.getTransactionReceipt or Web3Connection.getTransaction to get useful data.
  • (Array) uncles: Array of uncle hashes.
