Company Name: Green Privacy
Some major, long-term goals that we hope to achieve with our company are to be able to give access to a browser that has protections against data
collection and other privacy issues, and to do this while turning a profit. While companies do use personal data to make money by either selling it to brokers or using it for targeted advertising, we can use statistical data instead. We do not need to know the identity of a user to be able to serve them ads. While the ads may not correlate to the user’s lifestyle, they will eventually find the right people. While there are some limitations because of finances, advertisers are still more than willing to put out ads if they know that their ad is guaranteed to be seen by others. An example of this is the Super Bowl. Companies spend millions on their ads for the Super Bowl and pay millions more to get their ad onto the Super Bowl because they know that there are potentially over 100 million people watching. Even if you watch YouTube on a brand new computer with no previous data, with a VPN activated, they will still serve you ads. Now, with our service, we will have a built-in VPN, which will have at least one centralized server on every continent to begin with.
This idea of bringing a browser and a VPN together came from Apple’s vision to keep user data private unless explicitly consented. We used a
similar structure to the infamous DuckDuckGo browser, where your data lasts as long as you have the browser open. Nowadays, people’s privacy is being violated by corporations and corrupt politicians, so we want to have a space where people don’t feel the need to stress about their private life getting leaked or scraped by hackers or AI.
