Notes

The group continued its discussion of proposed (new) cmi5 Features for spec version 2.0 (IEEE)

The group reviewed the following cmi5 Issues – Marked “Deferred to Next Release” –

  • May an LMS change moveOn for a person taking it "during" a registration? #552

    • Revisited again from last week's meeting
    • The group determined that this should be outside the scope of the cmi5 specification.
  • Registration Id Requirement for All Statement Contexts #565

    • A good way to find all related statements to answer “why” an AU was waived
    • Propose change for future release (from issue):
      • 7.1.3 Types of Statements
        • AU MUST provide a registration id for all statements (cmi5 defined and allowed)
      • 6.3 LMS Statement API Requirements
        • LMS Should reject statements without a registration id.
        • LMS MUST Void statements without a registration id.
    • Should the LMS also be required to provide registration id’s for all Statements?
    • Revisit with more implementers
  • Prohibition of AU using LMS specific Verbs #576

    • Per the May 11th, 2018 cmi5 meeting. This is the proposed wording for explicitly Prohibiting AU's from making cmi5 defined statements with verbs that are intended for LMS use only (Launched, Waived, Abandoned, Satisfied)
    • The group agreed (10/21/2022) – reinforcement of what was originally understood
    • Why would an AU do this? An AU/LMS combined scenario?
