Conformance Testing

The group continued to discuss cmi5 conformance testing.

  • cmi5 Testing Methodology - The group reviewed the testing methodology used by Rustici participants for early xAPI tests (see ADL gitHub repo xAPI_LRS_Test ). The test technology being used was the "Gherkin" lanuage used be "Cucumber" testing software. The group agreed that this methodology would serve as a good template for documenting conformance.

  • LRS Conformance Test Suite - The ADL is currently developing LRS test suite software. See ADL GitHib repo "LRS Conformance Test Suite". A beta version is tentatively planned to be available in December 2016.

  • xAPI Certification Testing - On Monday, October 24 at 1:30pm Eastern, DISC and ADL will kick off a research effort that will inform Learning Record Store (LRS) software certification. This research effort is being conducted by the Data Interoperability Standards Consortium (DISC) working with the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative. Throughout November and December of this year, there will be meetings online and interviews conducted, ultimately informing the design of a software certification program for xAPI.
