cmi5 Promotion/Adoption
The group discussed current (early) cmi5 adoption in several areas. Group members will reach out to other content tool and LMS developers to encourage cmi5 adoption and participation in the working group.
The group also agreed to add more menu items to the "Github io site" http://aicc.github.io/CMI-5_Spec_Current/ for the following:
- Common Mistakes - A section describing common cmi5 implementation mistakes (i.e. List of "Do Not Do's")
- "Why cmi5 ?" - Section containing articles about cmi5 and its benefits (moved from the Home page).
Best Practices
The group reviewed changes to the Wiki and the (issues) backlog of best practices.
Pull request #517 Update index.md was approved to address the following issues (discussed at previous meetings):
- Best Practices - Always specify a MoveOn Criterion in the course structure for each AU #527
- Best Practices - moveOn criteria NotApplicable should not be used in a course structure #526
- Best Practice - Don’t recycle Auth tokens returned from Fetch URL #525
- Best Practice - The Fetch URL Should be unique for each session #524
- LMS Best Practice for Mastery score #523
- AU Best Practice for Mastery Score #522
- Best Practice – Launching apps on mobile devices. #521
- Best Practice - LMS Should redirect the browser to location #520
Spec Errata
Issue #530 - Should contextTemplate use "session" (as specified in the spec) or "sessionid" (as shown in some examples)?
The group determined the example in Section 10 (under contextTemplate) was incorrectly showing "session" instead of "sessionid". The spec was corrected as follows:
The value for session id placed in an "extensions" property with the id as defined in Section 9.6.3.1.
No cmi5 working group meeting November 25th
Due to the US Thanksgiving Day holiday, there will be no cmi5 working group meeting next week.
