Notes

The group began to discuss the “Product Road Map” for CMI-5

CMI-5 Product Road Map

The group agreed to identify a series of “prelease versions” to developers so that they can develop early implementations and validate that the specifications.

This will follow a model similar to XAPI but will have “code names” for each pre-release version.
(We will select clever names later but are currently using geological names of increasing hardness).

The “SandStone” release will be first, followed by one or two other releases prior to “final” – version numbered release for actual implementation.

Sandstone Release – Action Items:

  1. Finish XSD for Course Structure
  2. Identify XAPI version (1.02 vs 1.03)
  3. Identify IRI's for verbs (and other indentifiers)
  4. Workshop to validate current CMI-5 spec. (Possible DC - ADL colab - June or earlier)
  5. Message - How to portray CMI-5 and communicate plan. “XAPI with some extra rules” “Next Generation of SCORM” 6. Plan for Promote/Advertise To Developers - Advertising at venue - Elearning Guild events , ATD (ASTD), I/ITSEC

There is a desire to have “Sandstone” ready by summer. To that end, we will need to have a workshop that will last longer than a teleconference to go thru the entire spec and walk thru end-to-end scenarios to validate that we got it right prior to vendors trying to code it.

The current proposal is to have a meeting at the ADL Co-lab in Alexandria, VA (DC area). We intend to firm-up the dates next week.

Next Meeting

Mar 13th, 2015 – 10:30am US Eastern Time We will continue to discuss the CMI-5 “Roadmap” for release, etc.
