Notes

The group continued its discussion for last week on the effect of a "Waived" statement on moveOn Criteria (and Satisfied statements) and agreed to clarify the language in section 9.3.9 Satisfied as follows:

9.3.9 Satisfied

The LMS MUST consider that an AU that was previously issued a “Waived” statement by the LMS to have met the moveOn criteria for that AU.

The LMS MUST use the "Satisfied" statement when the learner has met the moveOn criteria of all AU's in a block. In this statement the LMS MUST use the block object per Section 9.4. The LMS MUST use the same block object for all Satisfied statements that refer to that block.

Rationale

  • Waived is a “Satisfaction Criteria” not a “moveOn Criteria”
  • Waived is was intended as an administrative “mark complete” or “exemption”
  • The Waived Statement serves as an audit trail for “why” a course was completed
  • Previously discussed (and agreed) in Issue Feb 26, 2016 - https://github.com/AICC/CMI-5_Spec_Current/issues/392
  • As indicated in Section 9.3.7 Waived -
    • The LMS MUST generate a unique session id for the statement containing a "Waived" verb and MUST NOT issue any other statements (except for statements with the "Satisfied" verb) using that session id.

Approved per issue 763 https://github.com/AICC/CMI-5_Spec_Current/issues/763
