Spec Versioning

The group resumed its discussion on the version management process for the cmi5 Specification.

Proposed Branch Management

1. Separate Branch for Each Major Version
2. Current Major Release will be in a branch - update errata (as Tags)
3. “Main” (Development) moving forward for work on a new major release

Possible Methods

• Use Tags to define errata releases - Quartz.0.xx
• Reference Tags with “pretty URL”
• 2016 Version of Quartz, Tag = "Quartz.0.0"
• Current Version of Quartz, Tag = "Quartz.0.1"
• Current Version of Quartz, Tag = "Quartz.0.x"
  • ( Quartz.0.x – Future – Frequency ? - every pull – grouping of pull requests (make decision at “Tag Time”)

Access Review

• Review all individuals with Pull access/admin
• Consider “protecting” Release Branch

Create a Change Log File

• For each Errata Release (update Changelog):
  • Narrative Summary of the impact
  • List of Pull Requests in the Release
