cmi5 sequencing
The group explored possible sequencing features for cmi5 to address issues raised by US Army customers in the last meeting.
Two general approaches were discussed:
- Modify the Course Structure
- Allow for AU's to query the LRS to determine the status of other AUs in registration
The group determined that the best approach would be for the LMS to use the Course structure to determine sequencing intent.
The group agreed that there are 2 areas to explore with regards to course structure changes:
- Equivalency - Adding properties to AU's identifying equivalent AU's / Blocks (for completion)
- Prerequisites - Adding properties to AU's indicate which AU's / Blocks must be satisfied before the AU can be launched by the learner.
It was generally agreed that in both cases that these new properties be simple lists (without Boolean expressions).
