CMI 5 Working Group Meeting Minutes – February 27th, 2015

Notes

The group continued its discussion on AU runtime testing from last week.

AU Runtime Testing

(Add) Verify that the AU redirects to the "returnURL" if specified.

Check ALL CMI-5 statements for the following:

(Add) Verify sessionID is correct (from State API)
Verify context has the correct registration
Verify that the statement has the correct activity id
Verify the statement has correct actor
Verify the statement has a valid activity type
(Add) Verify that the "Results" object is present for statements requiring Duration, Completion, and Success

(Add) Verify if optional results properties are present, that they are compliant.

Testing Administration/Process

XAPI certification as a "Prerequisite" for CMI-5 Certification Testing. (If it were to exist). Or incorporate XAPI Test Suite in CMI-5 Testing procedure.

CMI-5 Test Suite Components

  • Reference LMS Component (using a conforming LRS)

    • Will not check content for valid (non-CMI5) XAPI calls

  • Reference AU/Course Package Component

    • Will not check LMS/LRS for XAPI compliance

XAPI - Automated Content tests are not necessary as the LRS will have strict testing. Any Certified LRS will serve as testing software for XAPI compliance.

XAPI - Testing Plan

  1. Develop Automated Tests for LRS - No procedure needed
  2. Develop testing "Procedure" for content using Certified LRS.

CMI-5 Testing Plan

  1. Develop Testing tool that simulates the LMS and uses a Certified LRS
  2. Develop a testing procedure for #1
  3. Develop Testing tool that simulates the AU/Course Package
  4. Develop a testing procedure for #3
