Issue #597 How to implement the concept of "attempt" #597

The group discussed this issue at length. See the entire thread here :

There are multiple ways to implement recording the notion of an "attempt" (the learner taking a judged activity within an AU) in cmi5. The group determined that the best way was to use "cmi5 allowed" statements so the use of verbs like "failed" could be used multiple times in session.

This issue also prompted a question about using a new registration id for new "attempts" of an AU. The group saw this as a bad practice as a registration id represents a course enrollment (which can have multiple AU's).

cmi5 at iFest

cmi5 figured prominently at iFest 2019 this week. The group reviewed Andy Johnson's presentation on xAPI profiles and discussed new developments in cmi5 support and adoption. There were multiple discussions about more aggressively moving to deprecate SCORM and replace it with cmi5. There is now a new BAA (Broad Agency Announcement) from the US Dept of Defense explicitly aimed at developing an cmi5 test suite (and player) see link below:
