LMS Course Process Flow

The group continued its discussion on LMS course processing flow and related flow chart. Adding initial course evaluation flow (on enrollment).

cmi5 Spec Clarifications

The group discussed possible clarifications for the following items:

  1. Confusing terminology - "AU records statements" - The spec indicates that the AU "records statements" in multiple places. The word "records" is confusing because the LRS records statements. An more appropriate term for the AU transmitting xAPI statement data would be the word "sends" (i.e. the AU "sends statements")

  2. Inconsistent conformance language for Passed Statement - In Section 9.3.4 Passed, the "AU Obligations" row does on not contain a statement limiting the number of Passed statements to one per registration. It should be consistent with Section 9.3.3 Completed. So Section 9.3.4 should changed as follows:

... The AU MUST NOT issue multiple statements with "Passed" for the same AU within a given AU session or course registration for a given learner.

It important to note that adding such language does not change spec requirements as Section 9.3. Verbs clearly states the following:

Only one "Passed" cmi5 defined statement is allowed per registration.
