cmi5 sequencing
The group discussed issue #595 - Cmi5 sequencing (See https://github.com/AICC/CMI-5_Spec_Current/issues/595 )
This issue proposed that sequencing capabilities be added to the cmi5 specification and was discussed at length.
The group generally agreed that sequencing between assignable units (AU's) is usually specific to LMS implementation and remains difficult to get industry consensus on.
Complex sequencing was very deliberately not included in the cmi5 specification based on the experience of AICC and SCORM sequencing efforts in the past. LMS vendors were reluctant to adopt them because of the cost and the lack of agreement about their usage.
Currently, the cmi5 course structure does have a hierarchy and simple metadata for objectives and completion rules.
At some point the addition of simple rules that affect sequencing (such as prerequisites) might be considered in future versions (assuming consensus can be reached).
