Troubleshooting Stream issues

Audio

• Audio comes through aux 9 from the sound desk.
• Aux 9 has most channels set to post fade.
• The audio signal goes through the vision mixer to the U-Tap and into OBS.

Visuals

• Full screen visuals can be applied via the iMac input 8 on the vision mixer.
• Custom stream visuals (e.g. lyrics/bible) come through the DSK.

Custom stream visuals

• Sent using broadcast output from OBS
• To the black magic ultra studio
• Which sends them using two outputs (key/fill) to the vision mixer.
• In ProPresenter, settings, screens, the broadcast output needs to be set to the ultra studio.
• The output needs to be 1080p25
• Alpha needs to be enabled

Streaming to YouTube from OBS

• OBS has built in support to stream live to YouTube.
• Generally this is set up from week to week by the comms team but if starting the stream doesn't result in anything coming out on YouTube, the first thing to check is that OBS has the stream key matching our YouTube livestream.

• In the OBS settings, you configure the stream key

In YouTube

• You can find the stream key like this:

1. Use Chrome on one of the AV Macs to visit https://studio.youtube.com/
2. Click "Create" in the top right and "Go Live"
3. You'll see a list of upcoming streams. We usually just reuse the same one.
4. Click on the stream and under settings you'll see a stream key which you can show (to compare with OBS) and copy if needed.
