New ProPresenter Playlist for each service |
A fresh start means we avoid carrying over unintended mistakes or bad practices |
|
Create ProPresenter Playlists from templates |
The templates give the basic framework of a typical Above Bar Church service, making starting fresh each week much quicker. Additionally, if we have a permanent change in structure or process we only need to update the templates and all future playlists will have the correct start point |
|
Consistent naming |
Makes it easy to find things, identify where they're intended to be used, and can be sorted nicely. Where possible use short names |
e.g. For a playlist: March 02 AM , or for a presentation: 250302AM An Amazing Sermon Title |
Move finished playlists to the Previous services folder |
This reduces visual clutter for the team, while retaining them to allow going back to review(but for a couple of weeks!!!) |
Dragging with the mouse |
Confirm correct notices in pre/post loops |
We want to ensure new notices are included, while adverts for past events are deleted (not just disabled), there are also some notices that change week to week - e.g. we have an alternate GSMA slide for all-age services |
Using the arrangement control to select the correct slides, and delete finished slides from the Master arrangement. If adding new slides, remember to right-click on the slides and assign a meaningful group name, and if it is created from an image it is often helpful to set the label to None . |
Match playlist order and items to the ChurchSuite plan |
Having the right elements in the right order gives the Sunday team confidence when running the presentation and avoid confusion about what is expected. It's important in transferring any communication you've had with preachers and service leaders through to the slides being reviewed by the director and onto the Sunday team. |
Run through the ChurchSuite plan alongside the playlist. Make sure the order matches. Add notes to the plan if needed for any extra communication that you've had with service planners. Check that the offering/giving is mentioned on the plan and the slides match. |
Pull in songs from library |
Using versions of the songs we already have in the library gives the benefit of previous arrangements and fixes to lyrics. We generally play the songs in a similar way week-to-week so reusing the previous setup saves time. |
Use the search button, make sure you're searching in the library. |
Check all songs for intro and copyright, correct fitting |
The intro slide provides a point for the AV team to cue up a song, set required Looks, etc. and have the words appear for the band before showing to the congregation. Showing the copyright is a contractual requirement of our CCLI license, and we have chosen to show these after each song. |
Most songs have an ABC Default arrangement which includes Intro, Copyright and our normal arrangement of verses/chorus/etc. If needing to newly add the Intro or Copyright slide the Reflow tool is often simplest, then assign groups. If any of the lines within a song are overly long use the Reflow tool to add a line break at a musically/lyrically good point |
Pull in bible passages as needed |

|
Create sermon slides |
AM sermon slides need to be created to apply correctly on both the auditorium and the online stream. This will generally mean sticking to text content (and setting up specific text for the stream) and full screen images (which will be shown the same in both locations). |
Use the sermon macro on the first slide only (because it triggers the translation prompt). Avoid using images directly on the slides unless they are the focus of the slide - they will appear on both the stream and in the auditorium. To apply an image as a background, drag it into the slide from the show view to make it a media cue, rather than a slide element. |
Check videos do not loop. |
When a video is dragged into a slide as a media cue, it will loop by default. |
To fix this, right click on the slide and inspect it. In the inspector there is a tab which will let you choose not to loop. For portrait format videos you can also choose to show an out of focus background. |
Verify looks works correctly, thinking about transitions between items in the the playlist. |

Export sermon slides for the East |
The East site are currently using the same sermon slides a week behind city. Therefore we need to make them available in SharePoint after creating them. |
Right click on the sermon presentation in the playlist. Export the sermon presentation as a bundle into the relevant Sunday service East folder for the week they'll apply. |
