Run Epic-Scraper-Bot as a Docker Container
The official ESB container can be found here aduck/epic-scraper-bot
Before we Begin
This document assumes you have a working installation of Docker, you can verify this by running sudo docker ps in your terminal.
You should get a result like this
user@machine:~$ docker ps
CONTAINER ID IMAGE COMMAND CREATED STATUS PORTS NAMES
If you dont, you will need to make sure docker is properly installed and running, see Install Docker Engine or use the Install Script
Parameters
Env Variables
- TG_Bot_ID: This is the bot ID that you received from @Botfather
- SERVER_PASSWORD: The value enteres here will be set as the registration password. If left blank; no password will be set.
- CRON_SCHEDULE: This is the CRON schedule that specifies how often ESB should search for new games.
Volumes
Docker will keep the files running in the container until the container is removed, at which point the files are removed. To keep these files preserved, you need to persist a volume.
This can be done with Mounts or Volumes. The examples below use volumes as it was easier for me to access the DB from outsoide of ESB.
You will need to choose a path where the database can be stored.
The example below saves them in /home/epicscraper.
