MOTOR SIZING:

Our model contains 8 cams,8 body cylinder ,8 spokes,8 square plates,1rod which rotates with the help of dc motor.

  1. Our model contains 8 cams (foam board).

    • Volume of 1 cam=10.60425cm^3.

    • Volume of 8 cams =84.834cm^3.

  2. Our model contains 8 body cylinders (foam board).

    • Volume of 1 cylinder=14.14cm^3.

    • Volume of 8 cylinders =113.112cm^3.

  3. Our model contains 8 spokes(nylon).

    • Volume of 1 spoke =7.85cm^3.

    • Volume of 8 spokes =62.8cm^3.

  4. Our model contains 8 square plates(acrylic).

    • Volume of 1 square plate=0.48cm^3.

    • Volume of 8 square plates =3.84cm^3.

  5. Our model contains 1 rod(nylon).

    • Volume of 1 rod =5.65cm^3.

    • Volume of foam board =volume of cams + volume of body cylinder=197.946cm^3 .

    • Volume of nylon =volume of spoke + volume of rod =68.45cm^3.

    • Volume of acrylic sheet =volume of square plate=3.84cm^3.

    • Mass = density * volume.

    • Density of foam board=1 g/cm^3.

    • Density of nylon=1.14 g/cm^3.

    • Density of acrylic sheet=1.185 g/cm^3.

    • Mass of foam board = 197.946v g .

    • Mass of nylon = 79.402 g .

    • Mass of acrylic sheet = 4.5504 g .

    • Total mass=281.8984g.

    • Force involved is just the downward force (weight of the design/pattern)

    • Radius = 2.25cm.

    • F=mg=2.7636N.

    • T=F*r=6.2191Nm.

Here we require DC geared motor of 15 rpm.

BATTERY SIZING:

Number of dc motor used = 1

Load current used = 300mA

FoS=1.2

Required adapter is = 13001.2 = 360mA @12v = 0.5 A

Therefore for our course project we are using

12 v , 0.5A Adapter
