Tactical Realism 2 (TAC2) Quick Start Guide

Welcome to TAC2! This server is currently hosting ALiVE, ACE3, ACRE2 and many others! Please see our Steam Workshop Collection for all mods required to join the server.

Getting Started

TAC2 is a server designed by 7th Cavalry members for coordinated, tactical gameplay. Day to day gameplay consists of players getting together, organising, and attacking hostile occupied areas. Occasionally, you may encounter alternate gamemodes, such as Warfare Wednesday (WFW) or COIN (Counter Insurgency). However, this quick start guide will only be focusing on regular gameplay outside of these special gamemodes.

Teamspeak 3

Our communication ingame comes through Teamspeak (TS/TS3), using the ACRE2 plugin. If you do not already have TS3 then you may download it here

Server Nickname: ts3.7cav.us

Server Password: 7thCavalry

To join our server, you need a security level of 30. The program will prompt you to upgrade your security level if you aren't already at this level.

When running ArmA 3 with ACRE2 for the first time, it will prompt you to install the plugin automatically, you must close Teamspeak for this to work.

Joining the server

Once you are subscribed to our workshop collection, launch the game with these mods, and join Teamspeak, then you're good to go!

Playing on TAC2

Lobby screen slots

TAC2 is designed in a way that promotes greater interaction with players, communication and organisation at the forefront. To help facilitate this, not everyone is allowed to use every asset at base. Helicopters are locked to Heli pilot slots, Jets are locked to Pilot slots, etc.

If you are unsure about what slots do what, feel free to ask a member of the 7th Cavalry for help

Objectives

The primary objective is to clear the map of the strong points. Getting to these areas is usually difficult, and requires many players, or great coordination.

However, if the strong points are too difficult, then any grid square that is red, contains hostiles that players can hunt down and engage.
