For International Agents

This page is intended for international agents of the website. The goal of this section is to explain how a user of the website can download, preview, filter/sort and search resources.

Home page

On the home page, users can see all the personal stories. Clicking on a picture will redirect the user to the personal story.

Resources page

On the resources page, users can see all the resources. Here, users can download and (most of the time) preview resources. For videos, users can preview them and open the video on youtube.

Search bar

Users can use the search bar to find a resource with a specific title.

Category filter

Users can use the catagory filters to find their resources.

File type filter

Users can use the file type filter to show only a certain type of file.

Sorting

Users can choose to display resources by alphabetical order or upload date.

On the How to apply? page, users can learn how prospective students can apply at HZ University of Applied Sciences.

For administrators

This page is intended for administrators of the website. The goal of this section is to explain how administrators can see, add, edit and delete resources and administrators accounts. This section will also explain how to use the dashboard.

Users

1. Users represent administrators accounts. The users can have the ability to add resources to the application. And if they know what they are doing, users can edit functionalities of the application.
2. You can see, add, edit and delete users (administrators) of the application by clicking on Users in the dashboard menu.
3. After a fresh installation/deployment of the website, create a new user, and delete the default user account (the one named admin).

Media

The Media page allows administrators to see all the pictures and files you uploaded since the deployment of the website. The Media page should only be used to browse and search any content you uploaded on the Resource page. You can access the Media page by clicking on Media in the dashboard menu.

Categories

The Catagories page allows administrators to see, add, edit and delete categories. Catagories are assigned to resources. Users of the website are then able to select resources according to the category they want.

Videos

The Videos page allows administrators to see, add, edit and delete resources that are youtube videos. Added videos will be seen on the Resource alongside "normal" resources. Only youtube videos can be used.

Resources

The Resources page allows administrators to see, add, edit and delete resources. These resources can be of any type (pdf, pptx, png, jpg, zip, ...). The only restriction is on the size of file. If you want to upload big files, you will need to change a few settings in the php configuration of the server (see "Set Up" on our wiki for detailed information). Only certain types of files will offer previews on the Resource page.

Personal Stories

The Personal Stories page allows administrators to see, add, edit and delete personal stories. These resources will be displayed on the Home page of the website.

Other

The others sections and pages accessible from the dashboard menu are not essential for the proper functioning of the website. Unless major issues, only the pages and sections mentioned above should be used by administrators to update the website.
