Journalistic redaction

This involved going through the document and removing sensitive names or information that could lead to putting people in danger and/or violating peoples privacy rights.

Technical redaction

Some document types will contain some metadata. While this information is very useful to the journalist or investigator in proving the authenticity of the document it may contain information that could lead to the identification of the whistleblower.
