Janus

• Game/Season: Rapid React/2022 *Description: Janus was a large and heavy robot. It had two climbing arms on triangular things (yes, very technical) and a vacuum cleaner-shaped ball intake. The majority of the robot was black, but specific metal bits were purple. The triangular things were covered in sponsor logos. *Role: Janus was a very defensive robot. While we could consistently go for low scores, the main method of gaining points was climbing monkey bars at the end of the match. As Janus generally ended up on teams with high-scoring robots, it spent most of its matches ramming into other robots at high speeds. *History: Barley functional at the start of Duluth 2022, with the climbing arms inoperable until the last day. Was eighth alliance captain, eliminated in the quarter-finals. Won Inspiration in Engineering award, giving us paid entrance fee to Worlds. Performed substantially better at Marriucci. Ranked 12th in alliance selection, became 7th alliance captain. Got Excellence in Engineering award. Eliminated in the quarter-finals. Primarily ran defense at Worlds, many successful climbs. Got the Imagery award for our division. Eliminated in division quarter-finals. Due to previous wins and awards, got to Minnesota State competition. Came in 3rd.
