Yesterday

Joel

Yesterday I worked on my project 1 with my partner Edwin and had my one-on-one meeting with Tim. Pair-programming partner(s): Edwin Feliz Time spent as navigator: all the time Time spent as pilot: What did you work on: Writing service and DAO method headers and unit test classes What did you learn as a navigator: What did you learn as a pilot: Do you believe that this session was useful for your project? Why or why not: I think it was a good experience doing something I’ve rarely ever done.

Merry

Yesterday I did one on one, TDD, and paired programming for project 1. Pair-programming partner(s): Berhe Time spent as navigator: most of the time Time spent as pilot: some of the time What did you work on: TDD (service & DAO) and implementing some of the Service layer methods and DAO methods What did you learn as a navigator: Being able to explain the code in a concise and clear manner. What did you learn as a pilot: Did not learn much as a pilot. Do you believe that this session was useful for your project? Why or why not: This was challenging…but I think it helped to make sure both of us know what the methods do and agree on their functionalities.

Matthew

Yesterday I attended the 1 on 1s with tim, and spent the rest of the day paired programing with roger. We Completed the first set of tests and implemented our userDAO and userService. Pair-programming partner(s):Roger Time spent as navigator: 2.5~ Time spent as pilot:2.5~ What did you work on: We worked on the test object for our user DAO as well as the service for it. What did you learn as a navigator: Having 2 eyes on the same code catches mistakes much earlier. What did you learn as a pilot: I learned how to reset the root directory when I messed it up. Do you believe that this session was useful for your project? Why or why not: Yes. We did not get as much done as I would have alone, but it eliminated time spent fixing bugs. It also helps having a second person with a different understanding to explain things.

Edwin

Assist to one on one meetings with the trainer. Most of the day I work with Joel on pair programming.

Pair-programming partner(s):Joel Ohge Time spent as navigator: no time. Time spent as pilot: all the time. What did you work on: We Wrote the tests and created the methods to be implemented. What did you learn as a navigator: How to correctly write a test. What did you learn as a pilot: I don't really do too much as a pilot because my partner has more experience. So, in my particular case, it is best to learn from him. Do you believe that this session was useful for your project? Why or why not: It is a lot helpful because the skilled partner helps you to understand what you don't get from the lectures and training.

Berhe

I attended a 1 on 1 meeting. I worked on my project1 with my partner Merry. Pair-programing: Merry Time spent as navigator: some of the time Time spent as polit: most of the time What did you work on: TDD (DAO and Service layers) and implementation of some of the service layer and DAO methods. What did you learn as a navigator? It is easier to notice bugs while navigating. What did you learn as a pilot? I did not learn more when I was a pilot. Do you believe that this session was useful for your project? Why or why not: It is a lot helpful because the skilled partner helps you to understand what you don't get from the lectures and training.

Roger

Yesterday i did my one-on-one and working with matt on our project with paired programming Pair-programming partner(s): Matt Ingraham Time spent as navigator:around 2:30 hours Time spent as pilot: around 2:30 hours What did you work on: we worked on our userDAO userDAOImp and our userTest What did you learn as a navigator: its easier to notice bugs while navigating What did you learn as a pilot: I did not really learn anything new as pilot Do you believe that this session was useful for your project? Why or why not: Yes we got a lot of work done working in this method
