Setting Up GnuRadio in Mac OSX - 2013-UQ-Communication-Systems/public GitHub Wiki

These instructions work on the latest Mac OS X Mavericks (2014-03-26).

  1. Install XCode (it is in the Mac App Store), then run the following on the command line: xcode-select --install
  2. Install XQuartz
  3. Install MacPorts
  4. Install GNU Radio, with UHD support, GRC (the Companion), the WX and QT GUIs (just in case): sudo port install gnuradio

After installed can run gnuradio-companion.

The macports install of gnuradio automatically includes RTL-SDR, BladeRF as well as USRP support.

Troubleshooting

Note: this is not an upgrade procedure, if you are upgrading an old Mac OS X Install you should uninstall macports completely.

Also Note: If you upgrade XCode, you may need to re-run the port install command (and sometimes a port -f install)
