Taroun is an ancient and extremely advanced race, perhaps the firstborn of the galaxy. They are known to be a shapeshifter mimicking the outline of a race they are interacting with (even though they rarely interacts with anyone else).

Taroun civilization once span across half of the galaxy until they came into contact with another race which sparked what few would know as the First Galactic War lasting thousand years. The result was Taroun's victory and presumably the extinction of the other race costing countless of lives and thousands of stars. Hundreds of million years since scars and artifacts from the war is still visible in some places, a source of mysteries for the younger races.

In the present, while the Taroun are no longer in direct control of as much stars as they were in the past they are still as capable(if not more) as they were to turn the galaxy into hellscape once again. Thankfully they have very little reason to do so...

Technology

Taroun are known to be capable of creating life and did so a few times in the past.

Taroun can create hyperlanes and was one of their first major discovery that allows them to conquer the stars, some hyperlanes today are constructed by the Taroun.
