Rules
Contents: Two players are given one board to play on with a set number of ships of different sizes, most commonly 7 each consisting of an Aircraft carrier (5 spaces), a Battleship (4 spaces), a Cruiser (3 spaces), two Destroyers (2 spaces) and 2 submarines (1 spaces). Two colours of pellets are also needed to mark where points on the map have been hit. This of course translates accordingly when applied to a virtual version of the game i.e. on a computer. Instructions: Setup: Both players must without showing the other player, randomly place their battleships within the maps coordinates so that all sections of each ship fits somewhere. Once the game has begun neither player is to attempt looking at the other player’s side of the board, should they do this they would be disqualified. Play: Players must take turns alternating choosing coordinates on the map to hit with a bullet, the first to choose may be determined by a simple game of paper, scissors & rock. As a player chooses a coordinate to fire at, the other player must notify them weather or not their attack hit or missed one of their battleships, allowing for the attacker to mark weather or not they hit a ship at that coordinate. In the scenario where this game were played on a computer the game might do this automatically and even note with sound effects weather or not the player hit. Once a player has hit all sections of the enemies’ ship, the enemy player must exclaim “you sunk my battleship”. Victory: To achieve Victory a player must sink all of the enemy ships.
