Ündese
The Ündese are a human ethnic group native to the country Ündi on the frigid continent of Amatria. Their physical traits reflect generations of adaptation to extreme cold. They typically have short, stocky builds that help conserve body heat. Facial features include slightly almond-shaped eyes with thicker eyelids for protection against wind and glare, high angular cheekbones, and broader, flatter noses that help warm inhaled air.
Their skin tends to be pale to maximize vitamin D production in low-light environments. Hair is generally thick, straight, and layered, often long enough to cover the nape of the neck for added warmth. Natural hair colors range from deep black to white or gray. Eyebrows are dense to reduce sun glare off snow and ice. Men often grow thick, functional beards that provide further protection from the cold. Lips can appear darker, sometimes with a purplish hue, due to frequent exposure to freezing temperatures. Ears are slightly smaller and subtly pointed to minimize heat loss while still allowing effective hearing.
Ündese clothing is highly insulated and layered. Traditional garments are made from animal hides, fur, and wool, and are designed for durability and warmth. The clothing style resembles kimonos, often decorated with intricate geometric patterns. Outer layers are typically waterproofed or resistant to freezing moisture. Common features include fur-lined hoods, padded sleeves, and built-in mittens to shield the hands from harsh weather conditions.

Clothing
The Ündese eventually began importing most of their clothing from Ëlzho, as the Uvüm are widely known for their ability to make nearly any style of clothing visually appealing. In addition to aesthetics, Uvüm tailors are highly skilled at optimizing garments for specific functions.
Some Ündese clothing also comes from Khinhatt ⚠️, though this is generally considered lower-quality and less desirable. While clothing from Khinhatt ⚠️ is produced efficiently, affordably, and with solid construction, it is often viewed as less comfortable and less attractive. The Khanwis are known for imitating popular styles without much attention to the finer details that contribute to refined design.
Despite the practicality of Khanwis garments, particularly their warmth, most Ündese prefer the stylish and comfortable clothing from Ëlzho, which remains in high demand across their communities.
