Translations

This page explains how translations of Brumweald wiki content will be handled, including licensing considerations, contributor information, available languages, and where to find translated versions of specific pages.

Language Navigation (When Available)

When translations are added, each page will display a language navigation bar like this at the very top:

🌐 English | πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ ζ—₯本θͺž | πŸ‡«πŸ‡· FranΓ§ais | πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ EspanΜƒol

This will appear above the main heading on each page that has translations. Links will only appear if a translation is available.

How Translations Will Be Handled

Translated pages will:

Be clearly linked from the original page

Indicate the language in the URL using ISO 639-1 codes πŸ”— when applicable (name of the language if it has no ISO 639-1 code πŸ”—).

Translated versions may differ slightly in tone or structure, depending on language conventions, but will strive to preserve the original intent and age rating of each page.

There is no guarantee that translated pages will be up to date.

Legal Considerations (To Be Finalized)

Translation is a form of creative adaptation and may have legal implications, especially under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license πŸ”—.

When the wiki is ready for translation:

  • Translators will be credited clearly on translated pages
  • Translations must be shared under the same license (CC BY-SA 4.0 πŸ”—)
  • Contributions must follow the same reuse and tagging policies as original content

Translations may differ slightly in tone, sentence structure, or formatting based on linguistic and cultural norms. However, they will aim to preserve the intent, tone, and age rating of the original page.

Note: Translated pages may not always be up to date with their English counterparts.

This section is a placeholder and will be expanded after more research and development. Please do not contribute translations yet.

How to Help (Coming Soon)

Translation help will eventually be welcomed. Guidelines will be posted here when contributor policies and workflow tools are finalized.

In the meantime, feel free to join the Discord πŸ”— if you're interested in helping out in the future.
