How are patterns being documented?

  • When creating a new pattern, use the current Design Pattern Template. (To do so, just create a new page, enter: {{subst:Design Pattern}} on the page, and save.)
  • Then Save you new page and the default template will be added to your new page.  You can now edit and add your content to the new page.
  • If there is a WET component for review, check the upcoming work page.
  • For WET project, check the status of the project with the WET project lead.
  • Review usability research done specifically on CLF-compliant websites, as well as known design patterns, heuristics, best practices and recommendations from credible sources
  • Create wireframe and interaction design pattern documentation.
  • Present work to Pattern Project team
  • Revise as needed - Add caveats/show status on pattern page
  • Finalize proposed pattern
  • Go through testing process (TBD)
  • Log issues/link pattern in ircan under the WET project
