Model mechanics

Describing in words

Rapid reviews are broad in scope and use a simplified approach to systematic reviews, usually setting limits for the literature searching in relation to date, language, or searching within a single database, reducing the number of databases, assigning a single reviewer in each step while another reviewer verifies the results, excluding or limiting the use of grey literature, or by narrowing the scope of the review. Rapid reviews tend to generate results that are similar to traditional systematic reviews - see Abbreviated and comprehensive literature searches led to identical or very similar effect estimates: a meta-epidemiological study.
