Workshop Purpose
This workshop offers a comprehensive guide to hydrological model calibration, regionalization, and parameter sharing within the NextGen In A Box (NGIAB) ecosystem. Participants will gain hands-on experience calibrating models using open-source tools and pre-made data with NGIAB and NGEN-Cal Docker images.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will learn:
- ✅ Model calibration fundamentals - Learn the theoretical underpinnings of model calibration and its role in improving hydrological model accuracy
- ✅ Hands-on NextGen Experience - Complete a full model calibration workflow within the NextGen/NGIAB ecosystem using open-source tools
- ✅ Parameter sharing - Explore tools and methods for effectively managing calibrated parameters in collaborative environments
- ✅ Best Practices - Discuss challenges and best practices with peers and instructors
