Midi Output

The MIDI output device can be selected at Setup / Midi Ports.

  • Preferred: This device will be selected if it is present when the application starts.
  • Selected: The user can select here one of the available devices at any time. The "as Preferred" button saves the current selection in the user settings.

Some devices must first be set to GM mode, this can be achieved via Midi / Send GM on.

TrackView

In the first column on the left, the individual tracks can be expanded and collapsed. The button on top allows collapse and expand for all tracks. The track can be dragged to the desired height using the frame between the individual tracks. Each track height can be scaled using the Y-Scale slider.

The "Preload" button scans each track for the first channel, program change, volume and pan message and sends it to the output device. By pressing the left mouse button the sounds can now be played on the "Key" panel.

For a better overview, we try to reduce the number of note rows. So instead of always displaying all 128 possible note rows, 3 different modes are possible.

  • FullRangeList
Only a part of a full 128-note keyboard is used, for example 61, 67 or 88 keys.
  • RangeList
Only the range of notes used in the track is shown.
  • RandomList
Only the notes used in the track are shown.

The mode can be changed using the "V" button. The settings of the current mode can be adjusted using the "set" button.

If "Drum View" is checked, the instrument names of the GM drum patch are displayed instead of the note names.
