Notes

See slides and recording for visuals and notes about the preliminary survey results. Thanks to Mitch Vars for creating the charts!

Discussion from group and Blue Systems and LADOT around the recent focus on CDS and the importance of cities using both MDS and CDS for their programs.

Discussion about directly connecting the MDS and CDS specs. How it was important to keep them separate at CDS launch to reduce implementation burden and ease understanding, but now that cities are using both the burden could be reduced if they were connected by perception and technically. Leave your thoughts on this issue.

Discussion around how cities are not drawn to upgrade from 1.2 or 1.1 if they only are running scooter/bike programs, which makes sense since there are not many new features in 2.0 for these modes. But when a city wants to use MDS for new modes, that's when we are seeing the desire and need to upgrade to 2.0, and the survey results show that for all new modes. As cities use MDS for new modes, we will start to see more feedback and requests for new features and use cases in future MDS versions.
