Meeting with Len Kammerling October 4, 2016 with Lauren and Grace over Skype

Existing films - Len says they sed 80% of the material we had in the film. The films are already digital. Easy to pull except from. Len can do this. Len is going to send us the films to take a look at.

The sound - quarter inch tape - is all on CDs. Sound rolls are identified, but individual tracks are not. Interviews with elders who aren’t in the film. Repatriate these recordings back to the community. Audio - siberian, yupik and english - have all the bad sound. Microphones banging on things. The digitized version are kept that way because who knows what some student 20 years from now. Translation logs.

Photos - Definitely have those and can get them organized.

Production notes - It is available.

$1,200 should still be good. Len will need to sign up as a vendor to be paid. Grace is going to send the link for a vendor to Len. Deadline: Late January.

June or July - Visit to Gambell to get the additional information.

• Interviews with participants in the Gambell films, their experience of the production and its process.
• Interviews with community members on the role of the films in contemporary community life. Ex. Interview with translator for the project.
