Pupil is a little easier to parse in infrared. That's why there are a ring of lights generally, for less shadows. image

Black 962 Perspex is the black form of acrylic that is transparent to infrared. Used for TV remotes and stuff like that. Also usable is color filters for lights and probably black garbage bags?
