• Alan got in touch with EOSC to set up a call
  • intro presentation on EESSI
  • Azure resources for EESSI got funded via EOSC OCRE call in the past
  • EOSC now has own resources via "EOSC Nodes"
    • VMs, storage, open-source dropbox, etc.
  • no "big" resources available for EESSI build infrastructure
  • suggestion to leverage EESSI to provide shared software stack on EOSC Nodes
    • maybe can be added to their default VM images?
  • ton of people from European Commission in CC to doodle to schedule the call
  • Caspar: would be worth keeping SURF person in the loop here that proposed to make EESSI available on one of the EOSC Nodes

  • reference needed for changes in ROCm that make our life easier

        • WIP easyconfigs in https://github.com/bedroge/eb-rocm
          • failure in "empty" container were fixed
        • fixes for LLVM easyblock to build on top of EESSI merged: https://github.com/easybuilders/easybuild-easyblocks/pull/3741
        • ROCm 6.4 is still based on top of LLVM 19, so doesn't include new flang Fortran frontend yet

      • EDIC/ERIC: what it involves, how difficult, etc.
      • Linux Foundation project: legal impact, software vs services, ...
  • in touch with other CoEs on sustainability
    • will work on shared white paper, first draft prepared
    • triggered by BioExcel
    • also Excellerat, CHeese, etc. involved
  • should also be mentioned in periodic report
