Tenable Nessus is a vulnerability assessment tool used to identify misconfigurations, unpatched software, and security weaknesses across a wide range of systems. It plays a critical role in cybersecurity by helping organizations understand and reduce their attack surface. In my homelab environment, I’ve deployed Nessus inside a Docker container to enable a flexible, portable, and resource-efficient scanning solution. Running Nessus in a containerized setup allows for easy management, quick redeployment, and seamless integration with other services in my lab.
