just remembered what it was that i was forgetting earlier :( (facepalm)
[6/19/2019 2:45 PM]
heh, of course :P
[6/19/2019 2:45 PM]
shallow clones.. so you don't have to pull down the huge database somebody checked in at the beginning of the project, especially for automated builds
prior client had that problem.. repo took forever to clone
[6/19/2019 2:47 PM]
shallow clones sounds like the antagonist in a sci-fi movie :P
[6/19/2019 2:47 PM]
lol that's pretty good
there's a basis for your screenplay
[6/19/2019 2:47 PM]
nice
it will all be loosely git related, so everyone will think it's really inspired, and one guy in the back saying "but... that's just git!"P
keannu reeves would be involved...
[6/19/2019 2:48 PM]
(rofl)
cybergit or gitpunk
[6/19/2019 2:49 PM]
lol!
[6/19/2019 2:52 PM]
now i really want to write it :P
[6/19/2019 2:52 PM]
you should! work in some dave jokes too
[6/19/2019 2:53 PM]
ahhahahaha
[6/19/2019 2:56 PM]
like a character who never goes anywhere because parking is too expensive :P
[6/19/2019 2:56 PM]
so shallow clones are clones of a enforcer type, but to save money, they strip "non-essential" dna pairs that don't related to the task at hand. as a result, the shallow clones are enforcers, but tend to have short lifespans and health problems. eventually they figure out they are the victims of a corporate cost cutting measures, so start hunting the decision makers
[6/19/2019 2:57 PM]
that sounds really good
[6/19/2019 2:57 PM]
and then some guy shows up with a vape complaining he couldn't pay for parking his armored gun-van, so left it outside of the city, and as a result was the first to go in the uprising :P
[6/19/2019 2:58 PM]
they attempt a modification virus that would spread only to shallow clones and shorten their lifespans, but the merged dna virus was not using the most recent version of the clone dna, so accidentally affected standard full-featured clones as well...
[6/19/2019 3:00 PM]
what else do we have.... so scientists manage to engineer a successful gene-editing virus that affects shallow clones, but they didn't realize there were multiple branches, so the other branches of shallow clones were actually improved by the splicing, and are now more dangerous
[6/19/2019 3:00 PM]
the last human alive would die yelling "WHY DIDN'T YOU FOLLOW THE DOCUMENTED PROCEDURES!!!!"
[6/19/2019 3:01 PM]
some shadow clones try to modify themselves but become corrupted because they don't have the history of the full clones
[6/19/2019 3:01 PM]
oooh yes
two clone lines attempt to merge their dna to make a repaired individual, but mishandle merge conflicts and become weaker as a result
[6/19/2019 3:03 PM]
failed merges are "disposed of"
[6/19/2019 3:04 PM]
seems like there should be something about one shadow clone succeeding in rebasing himself onto some other dna and becoming much more powerful
[6/19/2019 3:05 PM]
for this move to be proper, it should be composed using git with multiple creators editing each other's work :P
god, could you imagine how meta that would be? :P
[6/19/2019 3:41 PM]
that needs to happen! and i haven't seen it, but i'm excited just being aware of it.
[6/19/2019 3:41 PM]
hahahahah
[6/19/2019 3:44 PM]
i hope i see it listed as being screened at sundance next year
[6/19/2019 3:44 PM]
or maybe make an rpg out of it
[6/19/2019 3:45 PM]
rpg would be cool, but it has to be a linear story first - organized codebase :P
