A mysql/mariadb database is required

docker run --name ot_cnt_db -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=1234 -d mariadb
DBIP=`docker inspect --format '{{ .NetworkSettings.IPAddress }}' ot_cnt_db`
echo "create database if not exists counter;" | mysql -h $DBIP -u root -p1234

Build with docker

docker build -t ot_cnt_img .

Run it, make sure you pass the database connection string

docker run --name ot_cnt_app -e ConnectionString="Server=db;Database=counter;User ID=root;Password=1234;" --link ot_cnt_db:db -d ot_cnt_img:latest

Test

CNTIP=`docker inspect --format '{{ .NetworkSettings.IPAddress }}' ot_cnt_app`
curl -X POST http://$CNTIP/Counter/Set/

Example nginx configuration:
