Jarvis is a project that I (Achal Soni) came up with and developed during my internship at Yahoo! while with the Content Agility team. I became very interested in how we were processing data in one cluster but serving data in a different system, and began to tackle the problem of providing low latency random access reads to a Hadoop cluster, which led to the creation of Jarvis. Jarvis is named after the intelligent A.I. system in the Iron Man series (in the movies it stands for Just A Rather Very Intelligent System which I hope this system will one day be).

At my time at Yahoo! my progress and work would be impossible without the brilliant engineers around me. I'd like to mention a few that helped me a lot and made my progress so far possible:
