How does the material world effect our body unconsciously. For this project, I’ll be investigating the relationship between our sense of emotional self and our unconscious automatic nervous system. Using a heart pulse sensor, I will be using that data to control the motion of 2 motors. These motors will pave out a composition on paper?/canvas? that will then be the structure for the new drawing. Where the relationship between the self and our automatic nervous will be shown, is where the person whose heart rate is being analyzed will describe exactly what they are feeling at the present moment, and not ever really revealing to the person their own heart rate. This investigation will try to see the patterns between the heart rate and the emotional state the person is in. Concentrating on scale and repetition to abstractly represent our heart beat. Once the Arduino has done 1?/ 0.5 minute of heart rate data, I will then draw over the painting to create a narrative between the emotion described and the composition that the system created. I will display 2 drawing finished with the whole system that created the drawing. People will be able to analyze their own heart rate through the eyes of the drawing machine.

PLAN
week1: Setup Arduino heart rate sensor, plan out what motions I want to focus at certain heart rates
week2: test out drawing/painting system with incoming data
week3: finalize on what 2 drawings I want to use, that focus on 2 completely different emotions
week4: draw over the finalize drawings/ displayed with the system
