Crowbar
The Crowbar is the first weapon the Player will be using as it is the first item they will pick up in the room they spawn in upon starting the game.

Pistol
The Pistol is the first ranged weapon you'll acquire, found in the lower maintenance halls of the Colony Ship. When designing it, there were two designs ideas, with variations branching from these. The first was to design it as a tool, similar to the Plasma cutter in Dead space - something that could be plausibly used as a tool for the maintenance workers, but also as a weapon. The second was to design it as a straight forward pistol, maintaining the sleek retro-futuristic style of the rest of the ship.
Ultimately, the latter was chosen, as it fit better with the style. The tool felt too clunky, and out of place for the setting. The final weapon chosen was to go with the revolver design, as it looked the nicest - with a rounded, shiny metal body. The revolver has a small size.

Shotgun
The Shotgun is intended to be found in the second half of the game - the Research Base. The main thing that had to be kept in mind when designing this weapon was that the research base was abandoned and very old. This is a location that has not been inhabited by human life for many, many years. The idea was to create a shotgun that looked, and felt very old, comparative to the pistol. A few different designs were sketched out, however they felt a bit too samey. Inspiration was taken from the Burgess Folding shotgun, and the folding shotgun in GloomWood (2022). After some further research, it was also found that variants of the folding shotgun also exist in pump-action form.

The folding design made it feel old and outdated, which is what the design was going for, but despite its old nature it is a reliable weapon. Adding a wooden stock and pump instead of plastic or more metal to it also helped make it feel older.
