Dear Stationeers community and budding server admins, we’re thrilled to share the next chapter in our journey: transitioning from StationeersServerUI (V5) to SteamServerUI (V6). This isn’t just a software update—it’s a complete transformation to make managing any Steam game server faster, sleeker, and more powerful, all while keeping Stationeers at the core of our testing and development.

That said, some Stationeers-specific features, like SSCM or the old backup system, won’t carry over to V6. Why? They’re too niche to fit V6’s universal design, and some (like backups) were already broken by Stationeers’ recent beta updates. But here’s the trade-off: you’re gaining a tool that’s easier to use, looks incredible, and can manage any Steam game server you want to explore. Want to try a Satisfactory server? V6 has you covered. Sticking with Stationeers? It’s still our flagship experience.

During the transition period (through Q4-2025), StationeersServerUI (V5) will continue receiving critical updates to keep your servers rock-solid. When V6 launches, we’ll make the migration as painless as possible, with tools and guidance to bring your settings along.

[!IMPORTANT] Stationeers is the beating heart of SteamServerUI. It’s our primary testing ground, so V6 will run your Stationeers servers just as smoothly (if not smoother) than V5.

Enter SteamServerUI (V6), our vision for the future of game server management. Built on the same reliable Go backend, V6 is a modern, professional-grade tool designed to run any Steam game server with ease. Here’s why we’re so excited:

  • Universal support: Using a flexible JSON-based runfile system (e.g., runGameName.ssui), V6 supports any Steam game you throw at it—Stationeers, Satisfactory, or even that obscure indie gem—as long as there’s a runfile.
  • Sleek, modern UI: Powered by Svelte and wrapped in a dedicated Electron desktop app, V6 sports a gorgeous, user-friendly interface with over 20 customizable themes to make it your tool.
  • Same core magic: V6 keeps the “up and running in a minute” approach, automatically handling SteamCMD downloads and game server launches with default configs that just work.
  • Future-proof: V6’s generalized approach means faster updates, easier maintenance, and the ability to grow with your gaming needs, whether you stick with Stationeers or explore new titles.

When and How Will Migration Happen?

Since SteamServerUI (V6) is targeting a stable release in Q4-2025, we’re still putting the finishing touches on its shiny new systems. The migration process isn’t fully developed yet, but here’s what we’re planning:

  • Auto-updater magic: When V6 is ready, StationeersServerUI’s built-in auto-updater (unless you’ve opted out) will prompt you with something like: “Hey, SteamServerUI is here! Ready to migrate and back up your V5 settings?” This one-click option will safely transfer your Stationeers configs to V6, ensuring you don’t lose your setups.
  • Backup safety net: We’ll automatically back up your V5 settings before migration, so you can dive into V6 worry-free.
  • Manual migration option: If you prefer a hands-on approach, we’ll provide detailed steps to manually transfer your Stationeers configs to V6’s JSON runfile system.

For now, there’s no rush. Use V5 as you always have, knowing it’s fully supported with critical updates until V6’s stable release. When the time comes, we’ll guide you every step of the way.

How to Prepare for the Transition

While we’re still months away from V6’s launch, here are some steps to get ready:

  1. Stay informed: Keep an eye on our Discord,GitHub repo, the v5 Console messages you see when entering the UI, and this Wiki for updates on V6’s progress and migration details.
