Enable Verbose Debugging

  1. Start OpenShot
  2. From the top left menu bar select Preferences, on the Edit dropdown
  3. Select the Debug tab
  4. Check the box labeled Debug Mode (Verbose)

Clear Old Log Info

  1. Open your openshot_qt folder.

    • Window users, find this foler at:

      • C:\Users\userName\.openshot_qt\

    • Linux and Mac users, find this folder at:

      • /home/userName/.openshot_qt
  2. Clear Your Log Files.
    • To do this, simply delete openshot-qt.log and libopenshot.log

Recreate the Issue

  1. Start OpenShot and reproduce the bug
  2. Drag the log files (As found in Step 1) into our Github issue or comment textbox. Note: This cannot be done when replying by email.
