Internal Content Review Process - DOI-ONRR/onrr.gov-site GitHub Wiki

So you’re helping out with some content on ONRR.gov. Awesome! We’re grateful for your contributions.

For person adding content:

  • If there isn’t already a GitHub issue, create one.

    • Add issue number to column G “GitHub Issue”.
  • Add content based on the wireframes

  • Use Content Tracking Sheet

    • Use the levels 1-5 (columns K-O) drop-downs to filter to the page or tab you are adding or editing.
  • In the Content Tracking Sheet, update the following columns:

    • Update status in column B
    • Add your name to column E
    • Add CMS page ID in column V (this is only relevant to main pages that haven’t already been added to the CMS)
  • If needed, add appropriate collection for the page and update column S in Content Tracking Sheet

  • Ensure correct document files (listed in column R) are added and external links are correct (listed in column Q). Ask another person on the team to check added content with link to the dev site.

    • Add dev site link to column W in the Content Tracking Sheet
  • If blockers are identified then attach appropriate GitHub issues as dependencies.

    • Add GitHub blocker issues to column H and as dependencies on the issue for the page you are adding.
  • Add comments to sitemap or wireframe if updates or changes are necessary

For person reviewing newly added content:

  • Make sure content matches wireframe

  • Use Content Tracking Sheet and update the following columns:

    • Add your name to column F
  • Check for the following:

    • links are working,
    • correct files attached,
    • check spelling,
    • title case, etc
  • Comment on issue with any correction needed

  • If no corrections are found then update status to “Approved by ODDD” in column B in the Content Tracking Sheet
