The app can run on all operating systems (Windows, Mac & Linux). You'll need to have Java installed on your machine. I strongly recommend having Java 8 or higher.

1. Download the latest release's .jar file for your operating system (e.g. admiralbulldog-sounds-win-x.jar for Windows).
2. Move the downloaded file to somewhere easy to access (e.g. on your desktop).

1. Open the app by double-clicking the downloaded .jar file.
   • Having trouble here? Try this.
   • Note that a config.json file and a sounds folder are created in the same folder as the .jar file.
     • Please don't touch them; they are needed by the app so it can run properly.
     • If you move the .jar file, be sure to move the config.json file and sounds folder to the same place, or you will lose your settings!
2. The app will ask you to navigate to your Dota folder, so that it can communicate with Dota 2.
   • Nothing illegal is being done! See here for more info.
3. Once you've chosen your Dota folder, the app will download the available sound bites.
4. Once the sounds have finished downloading, you're ready to use the app!
5. Restart Dota 2 if it was open during installation.
6. Add the -gamestateintegration launch option:
   1. Open the Steam desktop client.
   2. Right-click on Dota 2 and click Properties.
   3. Click GENERAL on the left-hand side.
   4. In the LAUNCH OPTIONS text box, add this: -gamestateintegration. If there is already text in the box, add a space before adding the new text. For example: -dx11 -gamestateintegration
   5. Valve has noted that this may cause performance issues for some people. If you are affected, simply remove the launch option. Unfortunately you won't be able to use the app in this case.

1. Make sure the app is opened and installed (see above).
2. Open Dota 2.
3. Enter Hero Demo Mode.
4. If you see this screen, the app is working:
   
5. You can also trigger one of the events that you have enabled on the app (e.g. use Smoke of Deceit).
6. If the app doesn't show the above screen after entering Hero Demo Mode, carefully go through the setup steps again.
